The heavy sterling silver orbs with the overlaid continents in sterling are accented with hand applied cloisonne or enamelwork in a deep sapphire blue. Cloisssone comes from the French 'cloisons' or partitions for the metal bordering the vivid enamel accents. These are nicely sized, measuring just under 3/4" in diameter with the curved bar to secure them just over 3/8" long with a 3/8" diameter round stud.
