The cloisonne enamelling is hand applied in vivid shades of genuine olive and emerald green, rose, ivory, amethyst, aqua blue, gold and jet black with the brass base metal gleaming through in the raised accents. Cloisonne comes from the French 'cloisons' or partitions for the metal strips which border the vivid enamelwork. It is decorated in a romantic pattern inspired by Victorian cabbage roses with tiny forget-me-not accents. This egg shaped piece has equally beautiful enamelling on all sides. This lovely piece measures 1 3/8" x 1 1/8" with the bail holding a chain up to 2.5 mm.
