Cloisonne comes from the French 'cloisons' or partitions for the metal strips which border the vivid enamel accents. In this stunning piece, all the metalwork is done in shimmering sterling silver, which also forms the stylized Arts & Crafts frame at its border. This wonderful piece has both a 6mm bail to be worn as a pendant as well as a pin backing so you can wear it more often. It measures just over 1 1/4" x 1 5/8" and is marked 925 for 925/1000 pure sterling silver. 7 grams or 0.62 ounces on my postal scale.
