crafted using this colorful art form, perfected through the ages, this stunning brass and hand crafted enamel cloissone piece takes the form of a detailed dragonfly. It has the sinous shape made popular in the Art Nouveau period with a detailed design, complete with a moveable, segmented tail. The cloisonne enamelling is hand applied in vivid shades of sapphire blue, lavender, turquoise, amber and rose with the brass base metal gleaming through in the accents. Cloisonne comes from the French 'cloisons' or partitions for the metal strips which border the vivid enamelwork. This stunning piece is secured to a very flexible brass pick or rod, allowing it to be secured into a flower pot, garden, flower arrangement or even wrapped around a window latch or around your home as your creativity suggests! The dragonfly measures 2 5/8" x 3 1/8" on a 6" wire.
