This is a really
beautiful, unusual sterling silver nail file with cover. It is covered with ornate engraved basketweave pattern with floral detailing. Items like this were frequently part of the chateline kit of fine Victorian ladies and came with rings so that they could be worn on a chain or chatelaine pin. It's size is just over 3/8" X 3 1/8" when closed.
