This unusual sterling ring features two detailed hands - his with a French cuff, hers with a ruffled detail. These hands are clasping when closed. There are actually three rings here and when you open the two hands out and rotate them to the sides, you will see that both hold the same heart. Rings like these are very traditional and date back to the 16th century, when they were called gimmel rings and use as testaments so love and for betrothals. Their name came from the Latin for gemelli or twins. This one is a size 5 - 5 1/4 and marked 925 for 925/1000 sterling.
