crafted using this colorful art form, perfected through the ages, this stunning brass and hand crafted enamel cloissone candle snuffer has a practical side as well, being a useful way to put out your favorite candles. It is also lovely enough to display on it's own. The cloisonne enamelling is hand applied in vivid shades of navy, crimson, kelly green and gold with the brass base metal gleaming through in the raised accents. Cloisonne comes from the French 'cloisons' or partitions for the metal strips which border the vivid enamelwork. It is decorated in a festive pattern inspired by the bountiful fruit designs of Della Robbia. The lily shapped snuffer is also enamelled in deep forest green within to protect the metal from the flame. The freely swinging bell of the snuffer measures 2" x 2 1/4" and it hangs from a gracefully curved 6 1/4" handle.
