This sterling
needle holder or case has one of the most unusual designs that I have run across. It is very detailed front and back with the figural form of a well dressed boy or lord, courting with rose in hand! Items like this were frequently part of the sewing kit of fine Victorian ladies and came with a hanging loop as this one so they could be worn on a chain or chatelaine pin. These are also great to hold toothpicks, pins, and other tiny treasures! It's size is just over 3/4" X 2 3/8".
