This beautitul
sterling silver locket is covered with a detailed pattern of marcasites surrounding a lovely lavender genuine amethyst in a style reminiscent of popular Victorian patterns. Marcasites were enormously popular in Victorian jewelry for the way in which they were able to capture the sparkle of candlelight. The most unusual feature of this pendant is that it opens up to reveal 4 separate openings for cherished pictures, making a 4 leaf clover pattern. It measures just under 3/4" x 3/4", not including the decorated bail from which it hangs. It is marked 925 for 925/1000 sterling and of very nice weight.
