What a wonderful
and dramatic pairing of stones--twilight purplish blue iolites with serene irridescent moonstones. The stones are securely bezel set, alternating moonstone cabochons of 6 x 8 mm each (about 1.42 carats each by size - 4.26 TCW) with faceted 6 mm iolite rounds (about 0.90 carats each - 2.7 TCW). Iolite is a really hot stone with those in the know--it's bluish-purple color is almost identical to tanzanite, but at a fraction of the cost and it is a much less brittle/fragile stone. This beautiful lavalier type choker or necklace measures 16" overall and is marked 925 for 925/1000 pure sterling.
